Fire Station Red Honors Fallen Missouri Firefighter

10/9/2009

Missouri Beverage Company, Inc. has paired with fire Station Red in a program to benefit The Ryan Hummert Memorial Foundation. The program provides a donation of $1.50 for every bottle of Fire Station Red Cabernet Sauvignon sold in Missouri from September through December.

On July 21, 2008, Ryan Hummert, a 22 year-old firefighter/paramedic for the City of Maplewood, Missouri, was answering an early morning call of a car fire. He was shot and killed by a gunman who set the fire to lure first responders to an ambush, resulting in Ryan’s murder and the wounding of two police officers. The gunman then set fire to his home and fatally shot himself. A senseless action with tragic results.

John Drady, Vintner and Sonoma County (CA) Firefighter, has developed a history of providing support to benefit our nation’s firefighters. Missouri Beverage Company’s initiative became a coveted tie-in for the brand.

Restaurants and retailers are featuring the product, along with materials promoting the donation details. For more information, contact Bill Reichhardt at Missouri Beverage Company, 314/231-5060 or breichhardt@mobev.com

Fire Station Red Rings Bell

Press Democrat

"I’m a wine guy but I have a real soft spot in my heart for what we do with Fire Station Red,” Drady said. “We’re able to give back to the fire services community and all the good works they do."

The cab, produced in Windsor, pairs well with firefighter cuisine, which Drady describes as hearty fare from chili to barbecue ribs and everything in between.
